Our Town

"Our Town" was chosen as the first production of the Good Company Theater at South Church because of its simplicity and timelessness. Though written over 80 years ago and set over 100 years ago, its powerful message is still relevant in our lives today. It was a great first play for our newly formed company because Grovers Corners embodies who we are as a community in this time and place. It speaks to all of us about the social and economic changes that are inevitable in life. Wilder's characters force us to see the beauty in the mundane by holding each moment dear. The show was produced right before the Holiday season as a way to remind people what is most important in life. Life is not about the clothes you wear or the tasks we do so diligently, but life is about truly seeing one another in spite of all the distractions. That is what it is to live.

Directed by Nikki Curie-Huggard

Good Company Theater at South Church is pleased to present Thornton Wilder's Our Town, a play about the stark reality of life and the beauty of every moment that we too often miss. The show is directed by Nikki Currie-Huggard, who most recently directed Godspell here this past spring. Starring talented actors and actresses of all ages from East Granby, Granby, Simsbury, and the University of Hartford, this show is certain to be a great start to the holiday season, reminding us that every moment is precious, no matter how ordinary it may seem.
